Betsy has pulled back the curtain on what is probably the single largest contributing factor to the simultaneous homogenization and erosion of community life in our country and has showed us all how to protect and rebuild vibrant local living spaces by way of unique, independently owned businesses that become a part of our communities, rather than simply siphon money away from them. I, also, have nothing but respect and admiration for this brave and unique lady.
